“Food Forest” was an idea that was submitted to an international garden festival as a temporary exhibit. The concept evolved from the idea of humans clearing the forest to “tame nature, produce food and create settlements”. A conceptual “dinning table” is placed on a tree trunk through a circular cut out in the table. The “table” will appear to float in the forest. The table will have additional circular cut outs where farm crops will grow up through the voids to present themselves onto the “dinning table”. The cut outs will become circular volumes that will now appear in the scene as seating options. The head chair will be a toilet seat with a sculptural garden house suggesting the water cycle as relates to human activity.
The garden will speak to the age old idea of the garden as a place where man has crafted nature into a garden space that reflects his culture and aspirations of a particular time.
